Jesus’ Life: Our Example

Jesus’ Life: Our Example

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
—John 14:12

Every thing about Jesus was miraculous. That means that every thing that Jesus did was possible because he relied on God Himself. It was through the power of the Holy Spirit that all of this was accomplished.

Jesus said it this way “I only say the things the father says and I only do the things the father does.” He went on and he explained that it wasn’t Him that was doing the mighty works and miracles, but it was by His Father living in Him through the Holy Spirit that these great things were accomplished. Jesus, being the son of God, demonstrated how a man is to live a miraculous life by relying on the Holy Spirit. Jesus was led of the Holy Ghost in all things and every miraculous thing that he did was accomplished by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God tells us that those who are the sons of God will be led by the Spirit of God. We aren’t to be led by our own desires, our own motives, or anyone else’s. We are to be led by God. We are to follow the direction of the Holy Spirit whom God deposited Him on the inside of us. Jesus said we are to do the works that He did. The only way to accomplish the great and mighty things that Jesus did is through the power of the Holy Spirit. We as Christians have to realize that we have been given the same Spirit that Jesus was given.

The Word of God says that if the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you, then He will you give the very life of God, even to your flesh. When you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you received the same Spirit who anointed Jesus. Jesus, with this same Spirit that you received, went about doing good, casting out devils and healing all manner of sickness and disease. You have not been given a generic form of the Spirit of God. You have been given the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. That means you’ve been given access to the same power that Jesus used to perform every powerful miracle in His earthly life.

Jesus not only came to set you free, but He also came to be an example of how we are to live. If Jesus’ life was good and pure, then our life is to be good and pure. If Jesus was led by the Spirit of God, then we are to be led by the Spirit of God. If Jesus’ life was full of the miraculous, then our lives are to be full of the miraculous. The Bible says that we are His body on the earth. We are an extension of Christ to those around us. The Lord Jesus Christ is not without power, and neither is His body. He is the vine and we are the branches. Don’t you know that we are temples of the Holy Spirit? With this miraculous power that has been invested in us, we shall do great works for the Lord Jesus Christ and His glory!

Jesus’ miraculous life was a pattern for us. We have been born into the body of Christ with purpose and destiny. We have been born from above to be a demonstrating witness of God’s love, forgiveness and awesome healing power. We are to live a miraculous life on this earth to glorify the King of kings and Lord of lords—Jesus, the Miraculous One.

Christ from the dead will also give life to
